The Nightwish Saga
How The Dreamer Learned To Fly
This story takes place in the Dark Ages, the time of the mighty kings and poor knaves, the brave heroes and even braver hoodlums, a time where the streets were full of wayfarers and bards, who delighted the ears of willing listeners with melodies of longing and anger.
Amid this turmoil, we’re turning to a young man at one of the countless streets, who’s wandering around among all these wayfarers, pilgrims and bards. And finally, a mystical, but nevertheless truthful story will be told now:
Tuomas, a son of one of the most influential noblemen at that time, was a very friendly, popular and, above all, kindhearted young man. He always fulfilled his particular tasks with an incomparable sense of duty and tried to suit everybody. Because of this nice character trait, his father was all proud of his son and always made new ambitious plans for the future of his second son. However, Tuomas’ older brother had already succeeded in life with becoming landlord of a couple of real estates and not only enhancing the family’s prestige but also its wealth to his father’s utter satisfaction. So the paternal attention was now aimed to the second-born, who didn’t quite get off the ground yet...
